By AZBigMedia, azbigmedia.com | February 3, 2026

Experience AZ magazine is Arizona’s go-to travel and adventure guide, showcasing the best places to eat, stay, shop, explore and experience across the state. Here are five Native American experiences to try in Arizona, as featured in the latest issue of Experience AZ.

Besh-Ba-Gowah

One mile southwest of the City of Globe stand the remains of a large pueblo village constructed by the Salado culture who occupied the region between 1225-1400 A.D. Today, the partially restored pueblo is known as Besh Ba Gowah. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the outdoor pueblo exhibits, learning about ancient Salado life, view artifacts such as pottery and stone tools in the adjacent museum and stroll through the park showcasing native plants used by ancient peoples of the Southwest. The park has picnic areas and the museum gift shop offers a wonderful assortment of specialty and Native American crafted items.
